How to Build a Redstone Counter and Display Circuit

Counting Pulses

Place a Redstone Counter where you want to tally incoming redstone signals. Feed redstone pulses into it from a Copper Button, a Medium Weighted Pressure Plate, or any redstone source. Each pulse advances the counter's stored value. Use a Redstone Resistor on the input line if you need to slow or limit the signal reaching the Counter so rapid pulses are not missed.

Reading the Value

Place a Redstone Display next to or facing the Redstone Counter. The Display shows the Counter's current value, so you can read the tally without opening any interface. Run redstone dust or Redstone Glass between the Counter and the Display to carry the signal cleanly and keep the readout visible through the glass.

Resetting and Chaining

Send a separate redstone pulse into the Counter's reset side to clear it back to zero. If you need to combine counts, feed two Counters into a Redstone Adder and route the Adder's output into a single Redstone Display. Use a Redstone Inverter when you want the Display to react to the opposite state of the Counter, for example lighting an Analog Redstone Lamp when the count is zero.

Practical Layout

Mount the Counter on a solid block, put the Display directly adjacent, and run Redstone Glass along the wall to the input source. Keep the reset line on its own dust path so a stray pulse from your button does not wipe the count.
