How to Craft Flux-Infused Ingots and Build the Metal Block

From Dust to Ingot

Flux-Infused Dust is the starting point for every metal component. Put Flux-Infused Dust into a furnace or blast furnace to obtain a Flux-Infused Ingot. Blasting is faster, so use a blast furnace once you have one. Nine Flux-Infused Ingots combine into a Flux-Infused Metal Block, and the block can be broken back down into nine ingots. A single ingot also converts into nine Flux-Infused Nuggets, and nine nuggets recombine into one ingot.

Gear, Plate, and Plating

Flux-Infused Gear and Flux-Infused Plate are intermediate crafting parts made from ingots and nuggets. Flux-Infused Plating is the heavier component used in armor and tool recipes. Keep a stock of ingots, gears, plates, and plating before you start crafting equipment, because most Flux-Infused tools and armor consume several of them at once.

Gem and Obsidian Rods

Flux-Infused Gem Block stores Flux-Infused Gems, which are separate from the metal line. Obsidian Rods are crafted from obsidian and serve as handles for Flux-Infused tools and weapons. Flux-Infused Obsidian Rod is the upgraded rod variant used in higher-tier recipes. Craft rods in bulk so you are not stopping mid-project to make more.

Practical Order

Smelt dust into ingots, press ingots into gears and plates, then assemble plating. Craft Obsidian Rods alongside. With ingots, plating, and rods on hand, every tool, weapon, and armor recipe in the mod becomes a single crafting step.
