Setting Up Your Mining Area to Showcase the Pack

Creating Good Lighting for Ore Visibility

The Realistic Ores pack's 3D models shine when light interacts with them. Set up your mining base or workshop with varied light sources—torches, lanterns, and glowstone—positioned to cast shadows across ore blocks from multiple angles.

Display and Organization

Create a showcase wall: Place different ore types in a dedicated area with good lighting. This lets you study how each ore's geometry looks and helps you memorize their appearances for faster identification during actual mining.

Organize by depth: Group Overworld ores separately from Nether ores. This reinforces the visual differences the pack creates between stone/deepslate veins and netherrack/blackstone deposits.

Practical Setup

Build your mining base near a cave entrance with adequate lighting. Position your crafting and storage area so you can quickly compare newly mined ore blocks against your reference display. This helps you verify you're collecting the right materials and gets you familiar with the pack's visual language.

Bonus: The pack works in multiplayer, so a shared mining hub lets your team learn the ore patterns together.
