How to Get Garbage and Use It

Sources of Garbage

Garbage Pile is the base garbage block. Compressed Garbage is a denser crafted form. Filth is a related waste item. Diseased Garbage and Pied Garbage are contaminated variants that appear when plague spreads. Ball of Filth is dropped by infected rats.

Compressing Garbage

Combine Garbage Pile blocks to make Compressed Garbage. This reduces storage space and is used in further recipes. Keep Compressed Garbage away from your rat enclosures because it contributes to plague spread.

Uses

Garbage is used in crafting recipes for rat-related items. Filth and Ball of Filth are ingredients in certain recipes. Diseased Garbage and Pied Garbage should be disposed of rather than stored.

Disposal

Mine Garbage Pile and Compressed Garbage to remove them. Do not leave Diseased Garbage or Pied Garbage near rats. If plague appears, clear all garbage blocks and cure infected rats with Bundle of Sweet-Smelling Herbs.

Related Blocks

Pied Wool is a contaminated wool block. Pied Garbage is the contaminated garbage block. Both spread plague and should be removed on sight. Dye Sponge is unrelated to garbage — it absorbs dye.
