Chef Rat Basics

Place a Rat Crafting Table and assign a rat wearing a Chef Toque. This turns it into a chef rat. Chef rats use the rats:chef recipe type to cook special dishes. Feed the chef rat ingredients like Cheese, Potato, Assorted Vegetables, and Bundle of Sweet-Smelling Herbs. It will produce Potato Knishes, Potato Pancake, Confit Byaldi, Rat Burger, and Cooked Rat. These foods restore more hunger than plain Cheese and can be eaten by both players and rats.

Advanced Recipes

Use a Curdling Station to make Nether Cheese from Cheese and Crimson Liquid. Block of Nether Cheese can be crafted from nine Nether Cheese. Blue Cheese is made by combining Cheese with Purifying Liquid in a Curdling Station. Block of Blue Cheese and Block of Cheese are decorative and can be used as building blocks. For a quick meal, smelt Cooked Rat in a furnace, campfire, smoker, or blast furnace. Plague Stew is made from Plague Essence and Assorted Vegetables — eat it only if you have a Plague Doctorate equipped, or it will make you sick. Store extra food in a Barrel of Fish to keep it fresh for your rats.
