Optimize Particles for Better Performance
Reduce Particle Load
If you experience frame rate drops, the particle count slider is your first adjustment. Lower the particle count to reduce the number of effects spawning per action. This significantly impacts performance while maintaining visual feedback.
Disable Non-Essential Effects
Toggle off particle triggers you don't need:
- Walking particles are purely cosmetic—disable them if performance is critical
- Keep combat sparks enabled for useful visual feedback during fights
- Projectile trails are less performance-intensive than walking effects
Adjust Particle Lifetime and Spread
Decreasing particle lifetime means fewer particles exist on screen simultaneously. Reducing spread also helps by keeping effects closer to your character rather than scattered across a wide area.
Choose 2D Rendering
If available, select 2D particle rendering mode instead of 3D. This is typically less demanding on your GPU while still providing clear visual effects.
