Adjust Water Clarity and Reflection Strength

Access Shader Settings

Open the shader options menu while in-game by pressing the designated key (usually accessed through your shader pack menu or video settings). Look for the water-specific section—this is where you control how transparent and reflective your water appears.

Customize Water Properties

Locate sliders for water clarity or water transparency. Increasing this value makes water more see-through, revealing the ocean floor and underwater terrain more vividly. Decreasing it creates murkier, more atmospheric water.

Find the reflection intensity or surface reflection setting. Higher values make water surfaces mirror the sky, clouds, and surrounding landscape more dramatically. Lower values create a more subtle, natural appearance.

Fine-Tune for Your Preference

Test changes in different lighting conditions—bright daylight, sunset, and underwater. Water appearance varies significantly depending on time of day and sky conditions. Adjust incrementally and take screenshots to compare. Some players prefer crystal-clear tropical waters, while others want deeper, more mysterious oceans. Your ideal settings depend on the biome and atmosphere you're creating.
