Troubleshoot Uneven Lighting or Harsh Shadows
Diagnose the Problem
If you notice sharp shadow lines, overly dark areas despite glow effects, or inconsistent lighting across your world, check your shader settings first.
Adjust Shadow and Ambient Settings
Open shader options and:
- Increase ambient light strength – Fills dark shadows with gentle glow, reducing harsh contrasts
- Soften shadow edges – Look for shadow blur or softness sliders to smooth transitions
- Boost night brightness – Raise ambient light during night cycles so caves and shaded areas remain visible
- Check light source falloff – Ensure torches and lanterns fade naturally rather than creating sharp cutoffs
Verify World Settings
Confirm your world brightness slider (in video settings) is not set to minimum. The shader works best with default or slightly increased brightness.
If problems persist after adjustments, try disabling other visual mods temporarily—conflicting shaders or lighting mods can cause uneven effects. Restart your game to apply all changes.
