Working with Corundum and Andesite Building Blocks

Andesite Bricks and Pillars

Quark expands andesite into a full building set. Craft Andesite Bricks, then use a stonecutter to produce Andesite Brick Slab, Andesite Brick Stairs, Andesite Brick Vertical Slab, and Andesite Brick Wall. Andesite Pillar gives you a column block for supports and trim. Plain Andesite Vertical Slab is also available for walls and edges.

Corundum

Corundum appears as Black Corundum, Black Corundum Cluster, and Black Corundum Sheet. Place Black Corundum Cluster as a decorative crystal formation, and use Black Corundum Sheet as a flat panel for walls or accents. Black Corundum is the base block of the set.

Stonecutting Workflow

Most of these shapes come from the stonecutting recipe type. Put Andesite Bricks or Andesite Pillar into a stonecutter and select the slab, stair, wall, or vertical slab output you need. This lets you convert one block type into many shapes without crafting each one from scratch.

Building Tips

Use Andesite Bricks for a sturdy base, Andesite Pillar for corners and door frames, and Andesite Brick Wall for railings. Add Black Corundum Sheet as a dark accent against the grey andesite. Combine with wood-matched Posts and Vertical Slabs to break up large flat walls.
