How to Use the Ancient Tome

Getting an Ancient Tome

The Ancient Tome is a Quark item used to store and apply enchantments. Obtain one through normal loot or crafting progression available in your world, then hold it in your hand to open its interface.

Storing and Applying Enchantments

Place an enchanted item alongside the Ancient Tome in the interface to move its enchantments into the tome. The tome holds the enchantments so you can transfer them onto a different item later. This lets you strip enchantments from gear you are about to discard and reapply them to a fresh tool, weapon, or piece of armor.

When you want to apply stored enchantments, place the target item in the interface with the Ancient Tome. The enchantments transfer onto the item, consuming them from the tome. You can repeat this process to move enchantments between items as your gear changes.

Keep the Ancient Tome in a safe chest when not in use. Because it holds enchantments rather than the items themselves, losing it means losing whatever you stored inside. Pair it with a Backpack or a Loot Chest if you carry it while exploring, so a death does not scatter your stored enchantments.
