Crafting the Ancient Tome

The Ancient Tome is produced through a smithing_transform recipe. Place your smithing template, base item, and addition item into the smithing table following the standard smithing layout. The exact template and addition items are defined by the recipe; the output is always the Ancient Tome.

Using the Ancient Tome

Hold the Ancient Tome and use it to store or apply enchantment-related data. Because it is a smithing_transform output, it is not crafted at a normal crafting table — you must use a smithing table. Keep a spare smithing table and the required template and addition items on hand if you plan to make more than one.

If you are converting an existing enchanted item, place that item in the base slot so its properties carry into the result. The Ancient Tome itself is a single registry item, so it does not have variants.

Practical Notes

• The Ancient Tome is the only smithing_transform output in the registry, so any smithing recipe you find that is not a vanilla armor trim will produce it.
• Store finished Ancient Tomes in any of the mod's chests, such as an Ashen Chest or Azalea Chest, to keep them separate from bulk storage.
• Pair it with a Backpack if you are carrying multiple copies while exploring.
