What Crates Hold

Quark adds crates for produce, including Apple Crate and Beetroot Crate. A crate stores a large stack of a single item type in one block, which is useful when you farm in volume and do not want dozens of chests.

Making a Crate

Craft a crate from the item it stores. An Apple Crate is made from apples, and a Beetroot Crate is made from beetroot. The crafting recipe type used is crafting_shaped, so arrange the items in the pattern the recipe shows in your recipe book. Once crafted, place the crate like any block.

Using Crates in a Farm

Place crates near your orchard or beetroot field so you can deposit harvests without walking to a central storage room. Each crate holds one item type, so label your storage area by crate. Pair crates with wood-matched chests like Acacia Chest or Birch Chest for items that do not have a crate.

When you need the contents back, break the crate or interact with it to retrieve the stored items. Because a crate compresses a large amount into one block, it is a compact way to keep a farm's output organized and ready for crafting or trading.
