How to Void Unwanted Items and Fluids with Trash Cans

Pick the right trash block

Craft a Trash Can to delete unwanted solid items. Craft a Fluid Trash Can to delete unwanted fluids. Both are placed blocks. Put them wherever overflow accumulates, such as the end of a sorting line or beside a machine that produces byproducts you do not want.

Route overflow into them

Point your output at the Trash Can or Fluid Trash Can. Anything that reaches the block is destroyed instead of stored, so use them as the final destination for a filter that sends only the items or fluids you have decided to discard. Keep them off your main storage line unless you want everything on that line gone.

Control what gets voided

If you only want to void a specific item or fluid, place the Trash Can after a filter or a Storage IO setup that routes the unwanted resource to it and everything else to your Quantum Storage Unit. That way the trash block only sees what you deliberately send.

Use the Fluid Trash Can for liquid byproducts and the Trash Can for solid junk. Both accept a continuous stream, so they work well at the end of an automated line where a machine keeps producing something you have no use for.
