How to Move Items In and Out of Storage with Storage IO

Place the IO against the unit

Craft a Storage IO and place it so it touches your Quantum Storage Unit or Storage Unit. The Storage IO is the block that pushes items into storage and pulls them back out, so it needs to be adjacent to the storage block you want it to serve.

Feed it from a container

Put a chest, hopper, or machine output next to the Storage IO. Items that arrive at the IO are transferred into the attached storage. To extract, point the IO's output side at the container or machine you want to fill. The IO handles both directions, so you can run one line in and another line out from the same storage block.

Chain multiple IO blocks

If one Storage IO cannot keep up, place additional Storage IO blocks against the same storage block and feed each from a different container. Every IO adds its own transfer path, so a wall of IO blocks around a single Quantum Storage Unit lets you load from many sources at once.

Use Storage IO whenever you want automated input or output without opening the storage GUI by hand. Pair it with a Quantum Storage Unit built out with Storage Frames so the storage has room for the throughput.
