How to Craft and Use the Quantum Storage Disk and Quantum Fluid Disk

Craft the disks

The Quantum Storage Disk holds items, and the Quantum Fluid Disk holds fluids. Both are crafted items rather than placed blocks, so they live in your inventory or in a disk slot. Craft them before you build the storage blocks that read them, since the disks are what actually carry the stored contents.

Insert and remove

Place a Quantum Storage Disk into a Quantum Storage Unit to give that unit disk-backed storage. Place a Quantum Fluid Disk into a Quantum Tank to give the tank fluid storage. When you break or move the storage block, the disk keeps the contents, so you can carry a full disk to another location and drop it into a different unit or tank without losing what is inside.

Match the disk to the job

Use a Quantum Storage Disk for solid items and a Quantum Fluid Disk for liquids; they are not interchangeable. If you need to move a large quantity of one resource, fill a disk, pull it, and slot it where the resource is needed. Keep spare disks on hand so you can swap a full one out for an empty one instead of waiting on a transfer. Combine disks with Storage Frames on the unit to raise how much a single disk-backed unit can hold.
