How to Get and Raise Ducks in Promenade

Spawning Ducks

Use a Duck Spawn Egg on a grass or dirt block to spawn a duck. Ducks are small waterfowl that fit ponds, rivers, and farmyards. Place several near water so they have room to move around.

Feeding and Cooking Ducks

Ducks drop raw duck meat when killed. You can cook that meat in three ways:

• Smelting in a Furnace turns it into Cooked Duck.
• Smoking in a Smoker turns it into Cooked Duck faster.
• Campfire cooking over a Campfire turns it into Cooked Duck.

Cooked Duck is a reliable food source for early exploration. Keep a Furnace or Smoker near your duck pond so you can process drops without walking back to base.

Building a Duck Pond

Dig a shallow pool and line the edges with Palm Leaves, Maple Planks, or Dark Amaranth Planks. Use Maple Fence or Palm Fence to keep ducks contained, and add a Maple Fence Gate or Palm Fence Gate for access. Decorate the shoreline with Blueberry Bushes, Coiled Vines, and Palm Hanging Leaves. A Moai statue beside the pond makes a memorable landmark.

Pairing Ducks with Other Animals

Ducks share space well with Capybaras. Spawn both with their respective spawn eggs in the same enclosure. Use Asphalt, Asphalt Slabs, Asphalt Stairs, and Asphalt Walls to build clean paths around the pond so the area stays walkable.
