How to Craft and Use Maple Wood and Maple Planks

Turning Maple Wood into Planks

Maple Wood is the base block for the entire maple building set. Place Maple Wood in a crafting grid to get Maple Planks. From Maple Planks you can craft the full family of maple building blocks: Maple Stairs, Maple Slab, Maple Fence, Maple Fence Gate, Maple Door, Maple Trapdoor, Maple Button, Maple Pressure Plate, Maple Sign, and Maple Hanging Sign. Use the standard shaped recipes for each — stairs in a corner pattern, slabs in a row of three, and so on.

Shelves and Storage

Maple Shelf is crafted from Maple Planks and gives you a display block for storing items visibly. Place it against a wall and right-click to insert or remove items. Maple Hanging Sign needs a Maple Sign plus chains; hang it under a block and write on it with a sign editor.

Boats

Craft a Maple Boat from Maple Planks in the usual U-shaped boat recipe. A Maple Boat with Chest combines a Maple Boat with a chest in a shapeless recipe, giving you mobile storage on water. Both boats place and behave like vanilla boats.

Stonecutting Maple Blocks

Maple Planks can be fed into a stonecutter to produce Maple Stairs, Maple Slab, and other maple variants more efficiently than crafting-table recipes, saving planks when you need many copies of one shape.
