How to Craft and Use the Philosopher's Stone

Crafting the Stone

The Philosopher's Stone is the entry point for most transmutation work. Combine it using the standard crafting grid with the ingredients the recipe calls for; once crafted it never gets consumed by its own operations.

Transmutation Uses

Hold the Philosopher's Stone and use it on blocks in the world to convert them. Common conversions include turning one block type into another of equal value, and using it to craft higher-tier fuels. You can also use it to craft Dark Matter and Red Matter from the fuels you have accumulated.

Fuel Chain

Build up your fuel stock first. Low Covalence Dust, Medium Covalence Dust and High Covalence Dust are the base materials. From there you progress through Alchemical Coal, Mobius Fuel and Aeternalis Fuel. Each step is worth more EMC, so converting upward with the Philosopher's Stone lets you store more value in fewer items.

Practical Tips

Keep a stack of Alchemical Coal on hand for early transmutations. When you have enough Aeternalis Fuel, craft it into an Aeternalis Fuel Block to store large amounts compactly. Use the Philosopher's Stone on those blocks when you need to break them back down for crafting.
