Optimize Primal Glow High for Better Performance

Adjust Shader Settings

Primal Glow High offers several tuning options to balance visual quality with frame rate. Access the shader options through your graphics settings menu while in-game. Look for toggles controlling shadow quality, ambient occlusion intensity, and bloom effects.

Key Performance Tweaks

Reduce shadow distance if you're experiencing frame drops. Closer shadows still look good but demand less processing power. Disable or lower bloom intensity to reduce the glow effect on bright blocks and light sources—this is one of the most demanding features.

Lower ambient occlusion (the darkening in corners and crevices) for a noticeable performance boost. The shader will still look good; it just won't darken shadowed areas as dramatically.

Adjust volumetric lighting if available—this creates god rays and atmospheric effects that can be expensive on older hardware.

Testing Your Changes

After each adjustment, spend a few minutes in different environments: bright daylight, caves, and night scenes. This ensures your chosen settings look good across all lighting conditions, not just one scenario. Take screenshots to compare before and after if you're unsure about a particular setting.
