Enhance Water and Surface Reflections

Locate Reflection Settings

Open shader options (OptiFine: Shift + O > Shaders > Shader Options; Iris: /iris config). Find the Reflections, Water, or Surface section.

Enable and Adjust Reflections

Pretty Shadows Shaders offers subtle reflection controls:

• Toggle reflections on/off — Enable reflections to see sky and environment mirrored on water and wet blocks.
• Reflection intensity — Adjust how visible reflections appear. Lower values keep reflections subtle; higher values make them more prominent.
• Reflection quality — Some settings control reflection detail without heavy performance cost.

Observe in Different Conditions

Reflections are most noticeable on still water, rain-wet surfaces, and polished blocks. Visit oceans, lakes, and rain-exposed areas to see your changes. Reflections interact with the soft lighting system, so they may appear softer during dawn/dusk or in shaded areas. Adjust intensity until reflections enhance the scene without looking unrealistic or distracting.
