Setting Priorities and Sorting with Priority and Sorting Modifiers

Priority modules

Priority Modules decide which destination receives items first when several are available. They come in Low, Medium, High, Lowest, Lower, Higher, and Highest Priority Module variants. Install a Priority Module on the Pipe feeding a destination to rank it against the others. Higher priority destinations fill before lower priority ones.

Sorting modifiers

Random Sorting Modifier and Round Robin Sorting Modifier change how items are distributed across multiple valid destinations. Random Sorting sends each item to a random eligible destination. Round Robin Sorting cycles through destinations in turn, spreading items evenly. Install the modifier on the Pipe where the split happens.

Filter modifiers

Filter Modifiers refine what a filter accepts. Tag Filter Modifier matches by tag, Mod Filter Modifier matches by mod, Data Filter Modifier matches by item data, and Damage Filter Modifier matches by damage value. Add the relevant modifier to a filter-equipped Pipe to narrow its selection.

Filter capacity

Filter Increase Modifier raises how many entries a filter can hold. Add it when a Low, Medium, or High Filter Module runs out of slots for the items you need to match.

Putting it together

Set a High Priority Module on your main storage Pipe so overflow items route there first, and a Lower Priority Module on a secondary dump. Use Round Robin Sorting when you want even distribution across several machines, and Random Sorting when any destination is acceptable.
