Controlling Item Flow with Extraction, Retrieval, and Crafting Modules

Choosing a module tier

Extraction, Retrieval, and Crafting Modules come in Low, Medium, and High tiers. Higher tiers move more items per operation. Install the tier that matches your throughput needs; a Low Extraction Module is fine for a small farm, while a High Extraction Module suits a busy line.

Installing modules

Place a module into a Pipe that touches the inventory you want it to act on. An Extraction Module pulls items out of the attached inventory. A Retrieval Module pulls items toward a destination. A Crafting Module performs crafting on the network. Match the module to the job at that specific Pipe.

Combining with filters

Add a Filter Module to the same Pipe to limit which items pass. Filter tiers (Low, Medium, High) set how many entries the filter holds. Use a Tag Filter Modifier to filter by item tag, a Mod Filter Modifier to filter by mod, or a Data Filter Modifier to filter by item data. A Damage Filter Modifier narrows by durability damage.

Tuning behavior

Use a Stack Limiter Module to cap how many items move at once. Use a Redstone Module to make the Pipe respond to redstone signals. Speed Increase Modules (Low, Medium, High) raise how fast items travel. Combine an Extraction Module with a filter and a Stack Limiter to move only the items you want, at the rate you want.
