Crafting and Using Compressed Blocks and Timber

Compression Chain

Compressed blocks stack into denser forms for storage and building. Compressed Dirt goes to Double Compressed Dirt. Compressed Stone goes to Double Compressed Stone and then Triple Compressed Stone. Compressed Glowstone goes to Double Compressed Glowstone. Compressed Obsidian goes to Double Compressed Obsidian. Compressed Quartz-Crete goes to Double Compressed Quartz-Crete. Craft each tier from the tier below it, and reverse the process when you need the base material back.

Timber and Bricks

Timber follows the same idea: Bundle of Timber → Heap of Timber → Ton of Timber. Bricks follow Pile of Bricks → Pallet of Bricks. Use these when you are stockpiling large amounts of a material for a big prefab build and want to save inventory space.

Where to Use Them

Compressed and double-compressed blocks are handy as bulk building filler behind finished walls, and Compressed Glowstone and Double Compressed Glowstone work as dense light sources. Compressed Obsidian and Double Compressed Obsidian suit blast-resistant shells around a Defense Bunker or Jail. Pair Quartz-Crete and Smooth Quartz-Crete with their Slab, Stairs, and Wall variants to finish modern builds, and use Phasic Block where you need a pass-through surface.
