Change Ping Text Color Based on Connection Quality

Automatic Color Coding

The mod can automatically adjust ping text color to reflect your connection quality. Enable this feature to see your latency at a glance—green for good connections, yellow for moderate, red for poor.

Steps:

1. Open your config folder and locate betterpingdisplay.json

2. Find the autoColorPingText setting

3. Set it to true to enable automatic coloring

4. Save the file and rejoin your server

Manual Color Override

If you prefer a fixed color instead, you can disable automatic coloring and set a custom hex code.

Steps:

1. Set autoColorPingText to false

2. Locate the pingTextColor setting

3. Enter a hex color code (for example: #FF5555 for red, #55FF55 for green)

4. Save and rejoin to apply the change

Your ping numbers will now display in your chosen color consistently, regardless of actual latency values.
