Optimize Frame Rate on Lower-End Hardware
Verify Shader is Lightweight
PosterizationShader is built with efficiency in mind and should run smoothly on most systems. If you're experiencing lag, the shader itself is likely not the bottleneck—check your render distance and other video settings first.
Reduce Posterization Complexity
Lower the posterization level or color depth setting. Fewer color bands mean less computation per pixel. This is the most direct way to improve performance while keeping the visual style.
Lower Supplementary Settings
Disable or reduce any optional effects like shadow quality, bloom, or advanced lighting if available. These features compound the shader's workload. Start with posterization alone and add effects back gradually.
Adjust Minecraft Video Settings
Reduce render distance, lower chunk updates, and disable fancy graphics if needed. These Minecraft settings have more impact than shader tweaks on lower-end hardware. Aim for a stable frame rate before blaming the shader.
Monitor Performance
Use F3 debug screen to watch frame times. Consistent frame rates above your monitor's refresh rate indicate good optimization.
