How to Craft the Golden and Diamond Respirator Upgrades

Moving Up from Iron

Once you have an Iron Respirator working, the next step is the Golden Respirator, then the Diamond Respirator. Each tier is built from its own Filter Frame and Vacuum Bag: the Golden Respirator uses a Golden Filter Frame and a Golden Vacuum Bag, and the Diamond Respirator uses a Diamond Filter Frame and a Diamond Vacuum Bag. The matching Vacuum Tube — Golden Vacuum Tube or Diamond Vacuum Tube — belongs to the same set and is used in the recipes for that tier. All of these are made with shaped crafting recipes.

Planning the Upgrade Chain

Gather the full set for a tier before you start crafting: frame, bag, and tube. Craft the Golden Filter Frame and Golden Vacuum Bag first, combine them into a Golden Respirator, and equip it. Repeat the same sequence with the Diamond Filter Frame and Diamond Vacuum Bag for the Diamond Respirator. Keep the lower-tier respirator as a backup rather than discarding it, since a spent high-tier filter leaves you unprotected until you craft a replacement frame. Store spare frames, bags, and tubes together by tier so you can rebuild any respirator quickly. Use the Aerometer to compare how each tier performs in the same polluted area before you commit to the diamond set.
