Finding Diamonds Faster in Deep Caves

Use the Glow to Your Advantage

Diamond ore now emits a bright glow that cuts through darkness, making it visible from much farther away than vanilla ore. When exploring deep cave systems or mining at lower levels, this glow acts like a beacon.

Mining Strategy

1. Explore methodically — Walk through caves and ravines without placing torches everywhere. Let your eyes adjust to the darkness and scan for the distinctive diamond ore glow.

2. Mine in straight lines — Create horizontal or vertical tunnels at Y-levels where diamonds spawn. The glowing texture will stand out immediately against stone and deepslate.

3. Branch mining works better — Since you can see ore from farther away, you can space your tunnels wider apart and still spot diamonds without missing any.

4. Combine with deepslate variant — At deeper levels, deepslate diamond ore glows just as brightly, so the pack works equally well in the lowest caves.

Pro Tip

Turn off or minimize other light sources when mining deep. The contrast between the glowing ore and darkness makes spotting valuable resources even faster, saving time on long mining expeditions.
