Using the Disassembly Wrench to Recover Ship Parts

What the wrench does

A Disassembly Wrench lets you take an assembled vessel apart and get the components back. Instead of mining placed blocks and losing them, use the wrench on the parts you want to recover.

Step by step

Craft a Disassembly Wrench. Approach the ship you want to break down. Use the wrench on each placed component — Airship Balloon, Wheel, Water Float, Boarding Stairs, and the Ship Controller Assembly — to detach it cleanly. Collect the recovered items as they drop. If the Ship Controller Assembly is still claimed with a Control Key, release control first so the vessel is not active while you dismantle it.

When to use it

Dismantle a ship when you want to relocate it, resize it, or reuse its parts on a new design. Because every component is recovered rather than destroyed, you can rebuild the same vessel elsewhere or swap in different blocks. Keep the wrench in your inventory whenever you plan to modify an existing ship, and store recovered parts together so reassembly is quick.
