Fixing a Ship That Won't Rise or Move

Check lift first

If the ship will not leave the ground, it needs more lift. Add Airship Balloon blocks to the hull. Each balloon block contributes lift, so a vessel carrying heavy cargo, many Wheels, or extra Water Float blocks may need several more balloons than a bare frame.

Check the controller and key

A ship cannot be piloted unless it has a Ship Controller Assembly and you hold a Control Key bound to it. Use the Control Key on the controller to claim the vessel, then interact with the controller to pilot. If you previously released control, you must claim it again.

Check placement and ground contact

Wheels let the ship roll along the ground; Water Float blocks let it rest on water. If the ship snags or tips, make sure these are placed evenly on both sides. A Ship Lift Jack raises a grounded ship so you can inspect the underside or reposition it. If the ship still will not move, release control with the Control Key, then reclaim it and try again.
