Crafting and Using Aluminum Gear

Getting Aluminum

Mine Block of Raw Bauxite and smelt it to obtain Aluminum Ingot. You can also blast it for faster processing. Store spare ingots as an Aluminum Block to save space, then break it back down when needed.

Crafting the Tool Set

From Aluminum Ingot you can craft a full kit: Aluminum Sword, Aluminum Pickaxe, Aluminum Axe, Aluminum Shovel, Aluminum Hoe, and Aluminum Hammer. The Aluminum Hammer is the odd one out — it is a multi-block mining tool rather than a standard weapon, so keep it in your hotbar when clearing large areas.

Crafting Armor

Wear the full set: Aluminum Helmet, Aluminum Chestplate, Aluminum Leggings, Aluminum Boots. Craft them at a standard crafting table using ingots in the usual armor patterns. There is also an Aluminum Base block, useful as a decorative or structural component rather than equipment.

Upgrade Path

Aluminum gear is an early-game tier. Once you have better materials, keep your Aluminum tools as backups in a chest near your mining site. The Aluminum Hammer remains useful for bulk excavation even after you upgrade your sword and pickaxe, so do not discard it.
