Installation and Basic Use

PhotonShader is a shader pack that enhances Minecraft's lighting and water visuals. Install it through your shader loader, then enable it in your video settings. The mod works automatically once activated—no configuration needed to see improved shadows from sunlight and moonlight, clearer water with surface reflections, and warmer glows from light sources like torches and lanterns.

You'll notice softer shading on foliage and terrain, plus enhanced sky colors that shift throughout the day and during weather changes. The effects apply globally to your world, making dark caves feel more natural while bright plains appear warm and inviting. Simply load a world or create a new one to experience the visual improvements immediately.
