Mining Efficiently Without Getting Lost

Plan Your Mine Layout

Before digging down, decide on a mining strategy. A simple vertical shaft with horizontal branches is easiest to navigate. Mark your path with torches on one side only—this helps you find your way back by keeping the torches on your left or right as you return.

Safe Mining Practices

Always carry:

• A pickaxe (stone or better) to break ore and stone
• Torches to light your way and prevent mob spawning
• A sword for self-defense
• Food to restore health if you take damage

Dig down gradually and place torches as you go. Avoid digging straight down or up—you might fall into lava or a cave system. When you find ore, mine it carefully and collect the drops. If you hear hostile mobs nearby, light up the area immediately and retreat to your base if needed. Keep your mine organized so you can find specific resources later.
