How to Fill and Use Mugs of Water, Milk, and Lava

Filling a Mug

A Mug can be turned into three different filled drinks: Mug of Water, Mug of Milk, and Mug of Lava. Each is its own item, so a Mug of Water is not interchangeable with a Mug of Milk once it is filled.

Use a crafting recipe to fill the Mug with the liquid you want. Mug of Water and Mug of Milk are the safe, everyday drinks. Mug of Lava is the dangerous one — it uses lava as its contents, so treat it as a hazard item rather than a beverage.

Choosing the Right Fill

• Mug of Water: the basic filled drink, useful as a starting point before you move to brews.
• Mug of Milk: a milk-based drink, made the same way but with milk as the input.
• Mug of Lava: made with lava. Keep it away from anything you do not want burned, and do not drink it casually.

Managing Your Mugs

Because each fill produces a separate item, decide what you need before you commit a Mug to it. If you are heading into brewing, save your Mugs for Clay Brew and Slow Brew instead of filling them with water or milk. Carry empty Mugs as your reserve so you can fill on demand.
