Locating Locked Chests

Locked chests spawn throughout caves, underground structures, and biome-specific locations. Look for chests that appear sealed or have a distinctive locked appearance. These containers hold valuable loot but require a key to open.

Obtaining Keys

Keys drop from defeating mimic monsters—aggressive creatures disguised as ordinary chests. When you encounter a suspicious chest in dangerous areas, it may attack when approached. Defeat the mimic to claim its key. Different chest types may require different key variants.

Opening Your Treasure

Once you have the correct key, approach the locked chest and use the key on it. The chest will unlock and reveal its contents. Store the key safely if you plan to lock your own containers later. Some rare keys only appear in specific dimensions or biomes, so explore thoroughly before giving up on a particular chest type.
