Wolf Variant Habitats

Wolves are rarer than other animals and spawn in specific cold and forested biomes. These variants are worth the search:

Open Cold Areas:

• Shaggy Wolves hunt across shrublands with thick, protective coats

Coniferous Regions:

• Cloaked Wolves roam coniferous badlands with specialized coloring
• Charcoal Wolves prowl snowy old growth taigas with dark winter fur

Taming & Breeding

Wolves require bones to tame—defeat skeletons to collect them. Once tamed, wolves display a red collar. Unlike other animals, wolves don't breed through food items; instead, tame multiple variants and they'll naturally breed together. Tamed wolves retain their variant appearance and pass it to offspring. Keep tamed wolves in a secure area since they wander independently. Bring multiple bones when wolf hunting, as you may need several attempts to tame a pack.
