ParCool Parkour Basics: Hooks, Rope, and the Guide
Learn the Toolkit First
Before you attempt any parkour route, know the four things ParCool gives you: the Wooden Zipline Hook, the Iron Zipline Hook, Zipline Rope, and the §bParCool Guide. The two hooks are blocks you place; the rope is the connector; the guide is your manual. Craft the §bParCool Guide early and read it — it explains the movement options available to you.
Practise in a Safe Space
Set up a flat practice area before you take on real terrain:
1. Place a Wooden Zipline Hook on a wall at head height.
2. Place a second hook a few blocks away.
3. Craft Zipline Rope and connect the two hooks.
4. Ride the line back and forth until the timing feels natural.
Once the short line is comfortable, rebuild it with an Iron Zipline Hook and stretch the distance. Use the §bParCool Guide to check any mechanic you are unsure about rather than guessing.
Move to Real Terrain
When your practice line works, scout a route across a ravine, between rooftops, or down a cliff. Place your top hook first, then the bottom hook, then run the Zipline Rope between them. Keep spare rope and at least one hook in your inventory so you can extend or repair a line mid-route. Build short segments and test each one before adding the next.
