How to Roast Nuts from Tree Saplings
Nuts You Can Roast
Nine roasted nut items exist: Roasted Acorn, Roasted Almond, Roasted Cashew, Roasted Chestnut, Roasted Hazelnut, Roasted Pecan, Roasted Pinenuts, Roasted Pistachio, and Roasted Walnut. Each comes from its matching raw nut harvested from the corresponding tree: Acorn Sapling, Almond Sapling, Cashew Sapling, Chestnut Sapling, Hazelnut Sapling, Pecan Sapling, Pinenut Sapling, Pistachio Sapling, and Walnut Sapling.
Cooking Methods
Roasted nuts are produced with campfire_cooking, smelting, or smoking recipes. That means you have three options:
- Put the raw nut in a furnace to smelt it.
- Put the raw nut in a smoker for a faster cook.
All three recipe types are present for the nine roasted nut items, so pick whichever station you already have. A smoker is the quickest if you are processing a large harvest; a campfire works if you are out exploring and have no furnace nearby.
Stockpiling Roasted Nuts
Roasted nuts are finished food items and also ingredients for other recipes. Grow several nut trees at once so you can roast in batches. Keep raw nuts in one chest and roasted nuts in another to avoid mixing them up when a recipe needs a specific type.
