Using the Cutting Board and Bakeware
What Each Block Does
The Cutting Board and Bakeware are the two processing blocks that gate most recipes. The Cutting Board handles prep work — cutting ingredients down before they go into a recipe. Bakeware is where baked goods like pies, cakes, and muffins are assembled and finished.
Placement
Place the Cutting Board next to your ingredient chests so you can pull items out and process them without walking. Place Bakeware near your furnace or cooking area. Keeping the two blocks adjacent to each other and to storage cuts down on back-and-forth.
Recipe Flow
Most recipes follow a chain: raw ingredient → Cutting Board prep → combine with Dough, Batter, or a dairy base → Bakeware. For example, a pie starts with fruit or meat, gets prepped, gets wrapped in Dough, and finishes in Bakeware. A muffin starts with a flavor ingredient plus Batter and finishes in Bakeware.
Stocking the Station
Keep these within reach: Flour, Dough, Batter, Butter, Cheese, Cream, Cooking Oil, and Fresh Milk. These appear across the widest range of recipes. Add flavor-specific items — Apple, Carrot, Chocolate Bar, Cocoa Powder, Chorus, Glow Berry, Caramel — in their own chests.
Scaling Up
Once the station works, batch your prep. Make Dough and Batter in large amounts, prep flavors in bulk, then run Bakeware continuously. This turns a slow one-off craft into a steady food supply.
