How to Grow and Harvest Every Pam's HarvestCraft 2 Crop

Planting

Every crop in this mod starts from its matching Seed item, such as Corn Seed, Tomato-style seeds like Bellpepper Seed, Rice Seed, or Cotton Seed. Place the Seed on farmland the same way you plant vanilla wheat. Most crops follow vanilla growth rules: they need light and water, and they advance through growth stages over time.

Keep a stack of each Seed type you want to farm. Seeds are the only way to start a crop, so if you lose a plant before it matures you cannot recover that crop without another Seed.

Harvesting

When a crop is fully grown, break or harvest it to receive the produce. Many crops drop additional Seeds when harvested, letting you expand your farm without crafting new Seeds. Collect both the produce and the Seeds.

Some plants behave differently from standard grain crops. Cactusfruit Seed, Barrel Cactus Seed, Nopales Seed, and Aloe Seed are cactus-family plants and grow on sand rather than farmland. Lotus Seed, Cattail Seed, and Rice Seed are suited to wet ground or shallow water. Papyrus Seed, Jute Seed, Kenaf Seed, Sisal Seed, and Flax Seed are fiber crops — grow them for their plant material rather than food.

Practical Layout

Plant one crop type per row so you can tell mature plants apart at a glance. Reserve a separate sandy plot for the cactus crops and a wet plot for the aquatic ones. Once you have a working plot of each Seed, you have a renewable source of every produce item in the mod.
