Using Pack & White to Reduce Eye Strain During Long Sessions

Enable the Shader

Activate Pack & White in your shader selection menu. The monochrome effect immediately removes color saturation, which many players find less fatiguing during extended gameplay.

Optimize Your Display Settings

Reduce overall brightness in your Video Settings if the grayscale still feels intense. Lower gamma values can help, especially during evening play sessions. The combination of monochrome rendering and dimmed display output creates a gentler visual experience.

Pair with Game Brightness Adjustment

Use Minecraft's built-in brightness slider (Brightness setting in Video Settings) to further customize contrast. A moderate brightness level—not maximum—works well with Pack & White's grayscale palette.

Take Regular Breaks

Even with eye-strain reduction, take breaks every 20-30 minutes. Look away from your screen at distant objects to rest your eyes.

Note: Pack & White's removal of color distraction can actually improve focus and reduce eye fatigue compared to the standard colorful world, making it ideal for marathon building or mining sessions.
