Where Amethyst Ore Generates

Amethyst Ore, Deepslate Amethyst Ore, Nether Amethyst Ore and End Amethyst Ore are the four source blocks for Amethyst. Each variant appears in its own dimension or depth band, so the block you break depends on where you are digging. Overworld stone layers yield Amethyst Ore, the deepslate band yields Deepslate Amethyst Ore, the Nether yields Nether Amethyst Ore, and the End yields End Amethyst Ore.

Mining and Processing

Break any Amethyst Ore variant with a pickaxe to obtain Amethyst. Bring the raw Amethyst back to a furnace or blast furnace: smelting and blasting recipes are present for these ores, so you can cook the ore into a usable form before crafting. Once you have Amethyst in hand, you can craft the full Amethyst tool and armour line — Amethyst Sword, Amethyst Pickaxe, Amethyst Axe, Amethyst Shovel, Amethyst Hoe, Amethyst Helmet, Amethyst Chestplate, Amethyst Leggings and Amethyst Boots. You can also compress Amethyst into a Solid Amethyst Block for storage or decoration.

• Carry a pickaxe strong enough for the dimension you are mining in.
• Stockpile Amethyst before committing to a full armour set; the tool and armour recipes each consume material.
