What Netherite Opal Gear Is

Netherite Opal is the upgraded tier of the Black Opal line. The Netherite Opal set includes:

  • Netherite Opal Sword
  • Netherite Opal Pickaxe

  • Netherite Opal Hoe
  • Netherite Opal Helmet
  • Netherite Opal Chestplate
  • Netherite Opal Leggings

These are produced through smithing recipes, which combine a base item with an upgrade material at a smithing table.

Progression Steps

1. Mine Black Opal Ore, Deepslate Black Opal Ore, Nether Black Opal Ore or End Black Opal Ore with a pickaxe to obtain Black Opal.

2. Craft the Black Opal tool or armour piece you want to upgrade — for example, a Black Opal Chestplate or Black Opal Pickaxe.

3. Take the Black Opal piece and the Netherite Opal upgrade material to a smithing table and apply the smithing recipe to produce the matching Netherite Opal item.

Practical Notes

  • Upgrade in the same order you crafted: pickaxe first, then sword and armour.
  • Keep spare Black Opal pieces on hand so you can upgrade several items in one session.
  • The smithing recipe preserves the item type, so a Black Opal Helmet becomes a Netherite Opal Helmet.
