Enable Colored Lighting in Your World
Activate the Shader Pack
Once Optimize Shaders is installed, you need to select it as your active shader pack. Open your shader settings menu (usually accessed through Video Settings → Shaders) and choose Optimize Shaders from the list of available packs.
See Colored Light in Action
Place light-emitting blocks like torches, lanterns, or glowstone around your builds. You'll immediately notice warm, colored light spreading across nearby surfaces—walls, floors, and other blocks will glow with the light's color rather than appearing flat.
Walk through dark caves or underground areas. The shader brightens these spaces with soft, colored light from any nearby light sources, making exploration safer and more visually interesting without the performance cost of shadow rendering.
Adjust Your Brightness
If the colored lighting feels too intense or too dim, check your game's brightness slider in Video Settings. Optimize Shaders works with vanilla brightness controls, so you can fine-tune the overall lighting to your preference without disabling the shader.
