How to Set Up a Keypad-Controlled Secure Door

Place the door and controller

Place a Secure Door in the doorway. Place a Door Controller adjacent to it, then place a Keypad next to the Door Controller. The Keypad is the input device; the Door Controller is what actually opens the Secure Door.

Wire and configure

Use the Security Terminal to link the Keypad to the Door Controller. Open the Security Terminal interface and register the Keypad as an input and the Door Controller as the output. Set a code on the Keypad through the same interface. Once linked, entering the correct code on the Keypad triggers the Door Controller to open the Secure Door.

Managing access

If you want the door to open only for specific people, add a Biometric Reader or RFID Reader to the same Door Controller instead of relying on a shared code. Register each user's NanoDNA or RFID Card in the Security Terminal, then assign them to the reader. The Door Controller accepts multiple inputs, so you can keep the Keypad as a fallback while restricting normal entry to registered cards or biometrics.

Testing

Stand on the Keypad side, enter the code, and confirm the Secure Door opens. If nothing happens, re-open the Security Terminal and verify the Keypad-to-Door Controller link is still registered and the code matches.
