How to Build an Alarm and Entity Detector Perimeter
Place the detector
Place an Entity Detector where it can cover the area you want to watch. The Entity Detector senses entities in its range and outputs a signal when something enters.
Connect the Alarm
Place an Alarm nearby and run a connection from the Entity Detector to it. When the Entity Detector triggers, the Alarm sounds. Use the Security Terminal to register the Entity Detector as the input and the Alarm as the output so the link is stored and editable.
Combine with door control
Route the same Entity Detector signal into a Door Controller alongside your Keypad or card reader. This lets the detector trigger a lockdown — for example, closing a Roll Door via a Roll Door Controller — while still allowing normal entry through the reader.
Tuning the response
Add a Cooldown Upgrade to prevent the Alarm from retriggering constantly while an entity remains in range. Add a Damage Upgrade if you are driving an Energy Turret from the same detection signal. Both upgrades slot into the device they modify, so install them before final placement.
Testing
Walk through the detector's range and confirm the Alarm activates. If it fires too often, increase the cooldown; if it misses entities, reposition the detector.
