Adjust Scanline Intensity to Reduce Eye Strain

Access Shader Settings

Open the shader options menu while in-game by pressing the designated shader menu key (typically accessed through your video settings or a mod menu). Look for the Old TV Shaders configuration panel.

Find Scanline Controls

Locate the scanline intensity or scanline strength slider. This setting controls how prominent the horizontal lines appear across your screen. Higher values create more visible scan effects; lower values make them subtler.

Adjust for Comfort

If the scanlines cause eye fatigue during long play sessions, gradually reduce the intensity slider. Test your changes in different lighting conditions—caves, forests, and bright areas will show different effects. Many players find a middle-ground setting preserves the retro aesthetic while remaining comfortable for extended gameplay.

Save Your Preferences

Once you find a comfortable level, apply and save your settings. The mod will remember your configuration for future sessions.

Tip: Scanline intensity interacts with your monitor's refresh rate and resolution, so what works for one player may differ for another. Experiment to find your personal sweet spot.
