Building and Firing a Naval Cannon

Assemble the carriage

Craft Large Wooden Carriage Wheel and Large Wooden Naval Carriage on the Gunsmith's Bench. These form the mount for the Medium Naval Cannon block. You also need a Large Iron Cannon Barrel — the largest barrel in the mod — plus Iron Bits and Brass Ingot for fittings.

Place and aim

Set the Medium Naval Cannon on the carriage. Use a Gunner's Quadrant to check elevation before firing; it reads the barrel angle so you can range your shots. The Congreve Rocket Stand is a separate emplacement for rockets, not cannonballs.

Load the cannon

Load with a Large Powder Charge of High-grade Black Powder followed by Large Iron Musket Ball, Large Lead Musket Ball, or Large Iron Buckshot. The muzzleloader reload recipes apply. A Fuse or Blasting Powder Stick can be used for ignition timing.

Fire and maintain

Right-click to fire once loaded. Recoil and reload take time — keep spare powder and balls in a chest beside the emplacement. Repair the barrel with Firearm Repair Kit or replace it on the Gunsmith's Bench. Store powder in Block of High-grade Black Powder form to reduce accidental detonation near the cannon.
