Get Better Nighttime Visibility Without Losing Atmosphere

Understand Night Lighting Balance

Nythra's default nighttime can feel dark for exploration. The shader provides controls to brighten nights while keeping them atmospheric.

Adjust Ambient Light Levels

In the shader menu, find ambient light or global illumination settings. Increase the ambient brightness slider slightly to make caves, forests, and terrain visible at night without making it look like daytime.

Enable or Enhance Moon Light

Look for moonlight intensity or lunar brightness controls. Boosting this makes moonlit nights feel natural and provides practical visibility for navigation.

Modify Night Sky Saturation

Adjust color saturation for nighttime. Increasing it slightly makes stars and the moon more visible and vibrant without washing out the dark atmosphere.

Test Your Changes

Walk through different terrain types—open fields, dense forests, and underground—to ensure visibility is adequate everywhere without losing the mood of darkness.
