Enhance Shadows for Better Depth and Realism

Access Shadow Settings

Open the shader options and locate the shadow section. Nythra allows you to control both shadow quality and how they respond to sun and moon position.

Increase Shadow Resolution

Higher shadow resolution creates sharper, more detailed shadows cast by blocks and terrain. This setting has the biggest visual impact but also affects performance. Start with a moderate value and increase if your framerate allows.

Adjust Shadow Distance

Shadow distance determines how far from the player shadows are rendered. Shorter distances improve performance; longer distances create more immersive, expansive shadow coverage across the landscape.

Control Shadow Softness

Soft shadows look more realistic and cinematic, while hard shadows appear sharper. Adjust the softness slider to match your preferred style.

Enable Dynamic Shadows

If available, enable options for shadows to respond to sun and moon movement throughout the day-night cycle. This creates dynamic, changing lighting that enhances immersion.

Balance with Lighting

Shadows work best when paired with appropriate sunlight and ambient light settings. Adjust these together for cohesive, realistic illumination.
