Adjust Bloom Intensity Around Light Sources

Access Shader Settings

Open the shader options menu while in-game by pressing the designated shader menu key (typically accessed through your video settings). Look for the Nyolxel Shaders configuration panel.

Locate Bloom Controls

Find the bloom or glow intensity slider within the shader settings. This controls how much light radiates outward from torches, fire, lanterns, and other luminous blocks.

Fine-Tune for Your Preference

Adjust the bloom slider to your liking:

  • Lower values reduce the glow effect, giving a crisper, more defined look
  • Higher values increase the soft halo around light sources for a dreamier atmosphere

Test your changes in different lighting conditions—near torches, lava, and glowstone—to see how the bloom interacts with various light sources.

Save Your Configuration

Once satisfied, confirm and save your shader settings. Your bloom preference will persist across game sessions.

Performance Note

If you experience frame rate drops after increasing bloom, consider lowering the value slightly. Nyolxel is designed for low-end systems, but extremely high bloom settings may still impact performance on potato PCs.
